  • Do you want to learn more about gardens, expert gardening, and growing plants?
  • Do you enjoy sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm with other interested gardeners?
  • Are you willing to participate in an intensive training program?
  • Do you have time to do the training and act as a horticulture volunteer?

If you said yes to these questions, then you should consider becoming an Atlantic Master Gardener.

About the training

Continuing and Distance Education at The Nova Scotia Agricultural College developed the Master Gardener Training Program to fulfill the “training” component of becoming a Master Gardener. The program is offered through Distance Education and consists of 4 independent study courses available online, and a one week, on site summer school. Each course is 3 to 6 months long and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during this time. Students can print the materials and read them in bed, or outside while admiring the garden!

The Master Gardener Training Program at NSAC brings together gardeners who share a passion for horticulture of all kinds, and are dedicated to learning and growing their knowledge to share with their community.
