Atlantic Master Gardeners Annual Fall Workshop

Stone Carving -  Creating Two Dimensional Objects in Stone
at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College, Truro, NS

Heather at work

Learn to carve stone utilizing traditional hand techniques, using chisel and mallet. Our instructor is Heather Lawson, of Raspberry Bay Stone. Heather is a world class sculptor, who's work is inspired by the natural world. The first female stonemason in Canada, trained by British Guild Stone Standards, she worked for years in restoration at Art Gallery Nova Scotia in Halifax. Her pieces can be found throughout North America -  in private collections,  at Provincial and National sites, and on buildings throughout Atlantic Canada. She creates works  for both interior and exterior spaces. Some are made particularly for gardens - another of Heather’s great passions.

The cost for the workshop is $200 per person, limited to the first 20 registrants.
